Our Paper Iterated Local Search for the eBuses Charging Location Problem has been accepted at PPSN 2022.
Padraigh Jarviz will be presenting our current ongoing work on Smart charging technolgies for eBuses at EvEUCoP 2022 - Evaluating challenges in the implementation of EU Cohesion Policy.
Our first SMARTeBuses research paper is about to appear at SoCS'2020
We have two PhD positions in Computer Science to be located at University College Cork (Ireland) as part of the SMARTeBuses project funded by the Sustainable Energy Authority RD&D Programme.
The project is classified as Non-economic Public Good Research under the EU State Aid regulations and will exploit, combine and improve cutting-edge AI technologies (Constraint Programming, Mixed Integer Programming, Metaheuristics and their combination with Machine Learning) to develop and implement optimization models for the operation of electric buses in Ireland with operational constraints (e.g., limited driving range and battery charging/discharging time).
We are looking for two candidates that can join us soon. The successful candidate is expected to have an undergraduate or taught postgraduate degree in computer science or mathematics, with strong analytical, problem solving, and software experience. We would like to encourage the potential candidates to contact Dr. Alejandro Arbelaez (a.arbelaez@cs.ucc.ie) at their earliest convenience.
